A Custom Map Commission is a collaborative opportunity to create a completely personalized Carland Cartography artwork inspired by a location that holds significance for you. Whether it represents where you met, where you built your life, a favorite destination, a hometown, a new development, or a place connected to your brand or business, your commission transforms that geography into an original abstract map designed specifically for you.

Each piece begins with real geography and is reimagined through color, line, shape, and layered detail to create artwork that feels both familiar and entirely unique.

What’s Included

Your $2,500 commission fee includes:

• A personalized consultation to discuss your location, story, space, and vision
• Research and selection of the geographic area featured in the artwork
• A custom composition created specifically for your commission
• Development of a personalized color palette
• Up to two rounds of design refinements
• Professional preparation of the finished artwork for your selected output
• Guidance in choosing the best size, material, and presentation for your space

How the Process Works

1. Choose Your Place
Select a city, neighborhood, intersection, destination, property, or other meaningful location.

2. Share Your Story
During your consultation, we’ll discuss why the location matters, where the artwork will live, your preferred colors, and the feeling you want the finished piece to create.

3. Your Artwork Is Created
Jennifer will transform the geography into an original Carland Cartography composition using her signature abstract mapmaking process.

4. Review & Refine
You’ll have an opportunity to review the artwork and request refinements before the design is finalized.

5. Choose Your Final Format
Once the artwork is complete, you’ll get notified it is completed. When you are ready, you can then purchase the artwork in a variety of formats. 

Please Note

The $2,500 commission fee covers the creative process, artist time, consultation, research, design, and development of your custom artwork. Original artwork is never sold unless negotiated ahead of time. 

The commission fee does not include the final physical print, canvas, metal print, or licensed digital file. Your preferred final format and size are selected and purchased separately after the artwork has been completed.
