New Maps! Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket!
Over the past few months, I have been working on two new maps simultaneously- the islands off the coast of Massachusetts, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.
I set out to make both the Nantucket painting and the Martha's Vineyard painting at the same time, so they can be purchased separately or as a matching set.
The Martha's Vineyard map shows the entire island, including the cities of Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown (pictured above).
They both include colors that are nautical-based, but over-saturated in addition to strong black lines. I used fishing buoys as my inspiration for the color scheme, and worked on the maps side by side so that both images look similar. I hope that these pieces will help people remember their summer holidays spent on the beaches of the islands.
The Nantucket map shows the entire island, including the cities of Siasconset, Madaket and Historic Downtown Nantucket (pictured above).
Both of the images are now available for sale on my website and I will be bringing them to events throughout the summer.
