In the same way that many travelers gather postcards or stamps when they visit new places, I try to remember the sense of a place by making artwork. What it smells like, what plants are growing, what the ground feels like beneath my feet, how the people interact with each other, etc. The colors chosen for this piece were based off of the nautical hues found in fishing buoys and the black web-like streets are reminiscent of fishing nets. I hope that this print transports you to these island locations and fills you with peace and a sense of wanderlust.
